Supported Employment

Life Connections services are designed to assist clients with behavioral health disorders or emotional disorders and to help facilitate their daily living skills and overall functioning. Life Connections services foster a personal support network to increase the client's quality of life.   The program provides assistance in the areas of self-confidence, problem solving, building of improved independent living skills and overall functioning within the communities that we serve.   These program services are available in Mason and Lewis Counties. Transportation is available to Life Connections clients through CompTran.

Supported Employment

Buffalo Trace Career Soultions is a full service supported employment program dedicated to assisting individuals obtaining long term employment. BTCS invests time in getting to know prospective employees, as well as employers. It is our goal to ensure a successful job match by nurturing a partnership that can enrich any company.  Programs providing employment support are a valuable resource for people with mental illness seeking competitive employment. Employment is a key component of recovery. Individuals with severe mental illness who hold competitive jobs for an extended period of time frequently experience a number of benefits, including improvement in their self-esteem and symptom control.

  

Supported employment services strive to achieve the following outcomes: 

  • opportunity to earn equitable wages and other employment-related benefits, 
  • development of new skills, 
  • increased community participation, 
  • enhanced self-esteem, 
  • increased consumer empowerment, and quality of life.

  • No fee to employer
  • Thoroughly screened applicants
  • Employees' abilities matched to job requirements
  • On-site job training by professionals
  • Additional training, as necessary
  • Follow-up services for the duration of employment

Adult Case Management

Case Management is a practice in which the service recipient is a partner, to the greatest extent possible, in assessing needs, obtaining services, treatments and support, and in preventing and managing crisis. The focus of the partnership is recovery and self management of mental illness and life. The individual and the case manager plan, coordinate, monitor, adjust and advocate for services and support directed towards the achievement of the individuals personal goals for community living.

The Wardrobe is a thrift store operated by Comprehend that provides job training to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We accept donations daily and can provide tax deduction documentation. The revenue generated from the store is put back into job training. We are open Monday - Thursday.

We Are Ready To Help

 Comprehend has same day appointment availability in any of our outpatient offices for anyone in an emergency situation and discharging from a psychiatric hospital.   

Funding is in whole or in part from Federal, CHFS, or other state funds.
