Residential Services

We provide residential support to individuals through two group homes serving eight people each, five staffed residences serving three people each, and an apartment serving one person. We also contract with Family Home Care Providers, who provide residential support in their own homes. For help in your own home, our Respite Care and Community Living Support programs are designed to fill any gaps in care.

Staffed Residences

  • We provide residential support to individuals through two group homes serving eight people each, five staffed residences serving three people each, and an apartment serving one person. For help in your own home, our Respite Care and Community Living Support programs are designed to fill any gaps in care.

Family Home Care Providers  (FHP)

  • We’re proud to work with vetted, caring families who have opened their homes to provide housing and assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each family is matched with one client to ensure one-on-one help with household duties, hygiene needs, medication administration, community access, doctors’ appointments, and companionship. If you are interested in becoming a FHP, please fill out this form or call us at (606) 759-7161 for more information.

Respite Care

  • No matter the reason, caregivers deserve and need a break sometimes! Our respite care services provide temporary care for a family member with an intellectual or developmental disability. Respite allows family members and caregivers to engage in activities outside of the home and without them worrying about adequate and appropriate care for their loved ones. Respite can be used in case of an emergency, or to give the family or caregiver some time for themselves. Send Us an Email to Request Respite Care

Community Living Support (CLS)

  • When you need a hand with care within your home, our Community Living Support specialists can come to you! Available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., specialists can tailor a schedule that fits your need. Contact Myrissa Zornes at mzornes@comprehendinc.org or 606-759-7161, ext 3806 to learn more.

Crisis Assistance & Case Management

On-Call Case Management is Available 24/7

On-Call Case Management: (877) 852-1523

The Crisis Prevention and Response Team assists those who have an intellectual or developmental disability and are experiencing a crisis. A crisis may require arranging respite care, providing food, and assisting with utility payments. A crisis may also entail a participant having a behavioral or a psychotic episode.

Our team of Case Managers serve as coordinators/advocates for individuals and their families. They develop an individualized plan of care based on the participant’s current and future needs while tapping into available community resources and ensuring all necessary agency paperwork remains up-to-date. Case managers will coordinate, monitor and evaluate options and services to guarantee the participant is receiving the best, most appropriate care.
